Privacy policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This is a simple one-page site. There are no forms, accounts, adverts or analytics, and I don’t use tracking cookies. The only personal information involved is the technical data any website receives when you visit, and anything you choose to send me by email.

Who I am

This website, kathuria.me.uk, is run by Gaurav Kathuria, an individual based in Margate, Kent, UK. I’m the data controller for personal information collected through this site. You can contact me about anything in this policy using the email button at the end of this page.

What information is processed

• Technical data. When you visit, the web server automatically receives your IP address, browser and device details, the page requested, and the date and time. My hosting provider records this in server logs.
• Emails you send me. If you email me, I receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write in your message.

Why I use it, and the legal basis

• Server logs are used to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.
• Emails are used to read and reply to your message. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to you, or taking steps you’ve asked for before entering into an agreement.

I don’t sell your information, share it for marketing, or use it to make automated decisions about you.

Cookies

This site doesn’t set tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, so there’s nothing to consent to. The short notice at the bottom of the page simply tells you so. When you click “Got it”, your browser remembers that in local storage, which stays on your device and isn’t sent to me. WordPress uses cookies only when I log in to manage the site; they aren’t set for visitors.

Other organisations involved

• Hosting. Hostinger hosts this website and processes server data on my behalf.
• Fonts. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. To fetch them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that processing.
• Images. The pictures on the IMTS Global and Hospitality Simplified cards load from those websites, so their servers also receive basic technical data when you view this page.
• Links. When you follow a link to another website, that site’s own privacy policy applies.

Where any of this data is processed outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long it’s kept

• Server logs are kept for a limited period set by my hosting provider and then deleted automatically.
• Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
• ask me to correct information that’s wrong or incomplete
• ask me to delete your information
• ask me to restrict how I use it, or object to my using it
• ask for your information in a portable format, where that applies

To use any of these rights, email me. You don’t need to pay a fee, and I’ll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please contact me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If I change how this site handles personal information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
